What game do you hate that everyone else seems to think is SOOO great? I'll say any castlevania game. I can't stand them.

Not som much HATE, but i just cant play Phantom Hourglass without getting bored and quiting. And Super Mario Galaxy i find kinda boring.
MW2. I don't "hate it" but I refuse to believe the game takes any skill when people teleport through bullets and snipe you with shotguns.
[QUOTE="NewbAmoeba"]QFT...Aero5555Sorry to go off-topic for a second but what exactly does QFT stand for? I know it's similar to saying "same". Quoted for truth :)
Fallout 3. I bought it since i thought it would be Oblivion-ish. It was not. It was very very VERY open. I couldn't find NPCs for miles, nor a camp of enemies. Also, the controls were a little on the clunky side for something that claims to be a open RPG/FPS.

Foxh0und666
Metal Gear Solid 4, I found it boring and tedious.
Final Fantasy XIIAero5555
What universe are you living in? FFXII got loads of negative backlash from the FF community...
I'm gonna have to go with Bayonetta though. The game only has a 10 minute demo and people are claiming it to be the greatest action game to date. With my personal experience, it's a cluster ****, broken button masher.
Hate is a strong word... there's very few games out there that I hate but people love. If you rephrase it as "Popular games that everyone else plays but I don't" I could give you a list about 100 games long.
A few would be:
Uncharted
Call of Duty Modern Warfare
Killzone 2
The last Mario and Zelda games since their N64 releases
Mario games. I like stories in games, and plumbers fighting dinosaurs is a little far-fetched for me.muthsera666
Ehh, clearly it seems you are missing the point of Mario. It's ok.
For me, it's Halo. The single player stories have bored the hell out of me. And multiplayer I can only play for a few games before I'm sick of it. I find it's single player to be incredibly generic, and the story, pretty lame. Just my opinion.
Gears 2- extremely repetitive gameplay (Blooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood!)
Assassin's Creed- boring as hell, repetitive
Fallout 3- stupid NPCs, terrible acting, simple quests, dull environment
Halo 3- confusing story, enemies are like animals or braindead lunatics, not very immersive
COD series- repetitive gameplay, no strategy, planning or skill required, most of multiplayer community is a bunch of a*******
L4D series- repetitive, repetitive, repetitive, no good story, and... repetitive

[QUOTE="muthsera666"][QUOTE="DarkCatalyst"]The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of TimeDarkCatalystOh no you didn't! I weep for your loss over Morrowind...Morrowind I hated for a lot of reasons, from the lack of good character design options to the absolutely massive world with absolutely nothing in it to truly involve the player. However, most maddening of all from Morrowind was the gameplay - if the combat is turn-based, make it turn-based, don't let the player hammer away on the R trigger and actually see attacks come out when they're really happening at much, much slower intervals. It gave the game a very clunky, low-quality look and feel. Ocarina I hated, simply, because it was a departure. When I buy a sequel, generally I buy it because I want more of the existing games that I loved, not something completely different with the same name slapped on it.The massive world is one of the bests I've found. I've spent hundreds of hours venturing through the lands, running into tombs to rescue some awesome bit of armor or a great weapon from its undead guardians. The tons of side quests sent me through varying environments throughout Vvardenfell, and I loved every moment of it. The combat was real-time, so I don't understand what your problem is there... Unless you mean your poor skills in the beginning? You don't connect with every hit, because you don't know how to wield the weapons the most efficiently; that's what increasing the level of the skills does for you.
Halo, really? I can understand the story not pleasing everyone, but its very apparent the amount of thought and time that went into balancing the gameplay. The art direction is beautiful. The music is beautiful. As with any online fps, the cheaters/"I only believe in rank" players are annoying beyond belief, but when those people aren't present the experience is unlike any other online console fps. Two players on the same xbox over live is a goodie that works surprisingly well.
As for the thread topic, I'm going to go ahead and add the later N64 offerings such as Donkey Kong 64, Banjo series, etc--typically the ones that tried to do too much with the system.
Same here. I also hate COD4.MW2. I don't "hate it" but I refuse to believe the game takes any skill when people teleport through bullets and snipe you with shotguns.
Raikoh_
I have a distaste for the GTA series, and COD series (altho the distaste for the COD series, stems entirely from its userbase)
Counter Strike: Source. It's supposed to be one of the most popular FPS's in the world, but I simply couldnt get into it. Also Team Fortress 2.
DC, have you tried out Oblivion? If so, do you think it's a step up from Morrowind?MetamaniaI did, and I feel that it was a major improvement. There's still a distinct sense of detachment from your environment that did lead to me losing interest eventually (well, Grandia III helped pry me away from it too), but it doesn't feel nearly as pronounced as it was in Morrowind.

I was connecting on one of maybe every six or seven attacks (which is really low even for a starting point in any given title and they should've known better), and what I was told here at GS was that the combat actually plays out in turn-based form regardless of whether or not you keep attacking. I'm not sure if the 1/6-1/7 attack rate is better or worse, but I wouldn't be able to sleep through that for very long, no matter what's waiting on the other side. At any rate, I ended up giving my copy to my mom, who apparently has a much greater appreciation for it than I have.
