Hey everyone, I was wondering where the best place to find a good Console/Handheld so I can look back on some good times. I don't really want to use Ebay, so can anyone tell me where I could find a SNES, an N64, or another good console like that.

ask around people you know, see if they have anything they don't want anymore.

you can also look around for an independently owned game store, that's wherei buy most of my stuff.

I'm not really friends with most of the hardcore gamer kids, I live in a really snooty area and people drop their old stuff once a new console comes out. And I'm not around any independant game stores.

I suggest you try and find a "Mom & Pop" game shop. There's one near me called GameUniverse, and it has NES to Now, with the systems and shelfs full of games. So try and find something like that, I personally found out about GameUniverse from some guys at GameStop while looking for DC games a few years ago... I was very upset when I found out that only two years after Sega dropped the DC my local Gamestop stopped carring games and systems :(

That eStarland website is pretty good, but looks a little pricey. Is Ebay my best option?

You might also look at amazon.com. You'll sometimes find good deals there.

I don't know where you live, but in my area there are several good second hand stores and pawn shops that have everything I need. Try places like that. Sometimes eBay is good, but I try not to use it

See if you've got a Craigslist in your area. It's basically a free online classifieds site. Check around in the Computers, Electronics, and Games & Toys sections. Once in a while people will get rid of classic systems for really cheap on there.

A lot of non-gamer people keep old system colecting dust in their attic and they're glad to get rid of them for a symbolic price. Just don't mention they may be worth something.

Nintendo Repair Shop is where I recently got new controllers, zapper, a cleaning kit, and a new 72-pin connector for my NES.

They sell NES, SNES, Genesis/Master System, N64, GameCube and Gameboy games/accessories/systems. The prices really aren't that bad, considering the quality of the controllers I got. (They were very responsive, same shape/feel as the originals, and even had around 10-foot cables, so I could sit back farther)

Just in case: www.nintendorepairshop.com

I do either Amazon or Ebay, sometimes they have the best deals but I only do the "buy it now" thing on Ebay.

You can also check out Gamecrazy (if they're still around). They usually come in stock with pretty much every system, although they usually don't come with too many rarities.

When I was on holdiay in Paris, France there were a lot of retro game shops, if you google for retro games hops and enter a certain area you can find a few great shops, it always worked for me.
I'd recommend shops over the internet anytime.

I always wanted to buy a Sega Saturn or Dreamcast though the games are hard to find they are both great consoles.
There are still coming out some great shoot 'em ups for the Dreamcast every year.
