With Phantom hourglass (pics here) and this, DS games are going 3-D and getting purty.
Big pic

Screens below are blown up hence the more apparent pixellation.

Wow, that looks awesome. I wonder if it'll play like Crystal Chronicles or maybe something entirely different.
I'd personally be happy if it was like CC, only if the game actually had any sort of story and character development.

Moreso, they focus on non-linearity in some way, as well as unique approaches to statistical character development...so I'm not expecting a great literary work from this game at all, personally.
Even though I didn't get into the Gamecube version, I think Ring of Fates will be a nice addition to my DS.
Personally, I think for the kind of game Crystal Chronicles is it will be a better fit on the DS. Going on adventures through the DS's Wi-Fi is the way this game will shine best instead of that whole GBA connectivity mess the Cube version was.
On a related note, I'm glad Square-Enix stuck with the traditional turn-based gameplay for Dragon Quest IX. If they didn't then they'd have two games that will be too similar. Having Crystal Chronicles Ring of Fates and DQIX staying true to their foundation gives more variety and more reasons to buy both games for different experiences, especially since both games are Squenix's games.
