My favorite game as a child was probably Minecraft, Half-Life or Counterstrike Source!
Grew up in the Windows 4.0 era and saw the evolution from 5.25" inch floppies to hard floppies to CD, but started gaming when I was a wee kid maybe a bit before that. Plus that was the NES, SNES, and Sega Genesis days too.
If we are going by the legal definition, I guess my childhood ended in 2002 when I turned 18, so I am definitely a 90's child. If I had to pick one single game, it'd be Half-Life (1998). Not only is it one of my favorite games, but it was the game that launched me into the online world. It is a very significant game to me not only for subjective reasons, but tangible and objective ones as well.
I've forgotten many of the names of other games, but I really liked:
Disliked traditional games when I was much younger and only really enjoyed the various dance games at the arcades, namely because it was more a commun experience, active, and involved a lot of focus.
Gaming is something I came to appreciate as I got older, was probably put off by how games got thrown at me at a young age and that kept my interest low.
I can't just pick one it's impossible these are some of my favorites before I turned 18.
Probably Age of Empires 2, Red alert 2, Starcraft, Sim City, Caesar and the various tycoon games like Zoo Tycoon, Roller Coaster Tycoon, Airport Tycoon for PC.
On PSX probably almost every classic game that you google. I played a lot of em as I have many friends that owns PSX so we play together and exchange games a lot.
Oh enjoyed pokemon yellow and DQ3 on gameboy too.
Little Big Adventure 2
I saw it on display at the mall one day and desperately wanted to play it. Many months later we bought a computer and I was able to actually play the game. It was great, one of the best games I've played.
Spider-Man (PS1)
Crash 3 Warped
Rayman 2 (PS1)
Sonic Adventure 2 (Pretty much any Sonic game, but this one is one that I do go back to ever so often.)
Mega Man Legends 2
Sonic the Hedgehog on Sega Genesis was my first favorite game as a child. Jurassic Park on Sega Genesis as well.
But I didn't really appreciate video games for real until I got a PS2. Games like Spider-Man, ATV Off Road Fury 2, Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets, Need For Speed Underground 2 were so awesome.
By the time I was in like 5th or 6th grade I was playing Hitman Contracts and lot more mature games, but I was also into Nintendo DS games like Super Mario 64.
Frostbite on the Atari 2600. I think I was 7 or 8 years old at the time and time.lol, quite a few years back.
