Alien vs predator (or pretty much any capcom beat em up)- arcade
Streets of rage 2- genesis
Streets of rage remake- PC
Double Dragon- NES
This is one of my favorite genres so I have a lot of favorites.
Streets of Rage 1-3 (Genesis)
Final Fight 1-3 (SNES)
Batman Returns (SNES)
The Death and Return of Superman (SNES)
X-Men Arcade Game (Arcade)
Battletoads and Double Dragon The Ultimate Team (SNES)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Arcade Game (NES)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3: The Manhattan Project (NES)
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 4: Turtles in Time (SNES)

Maximum Carnage (Genesis)
Double Dragon 1-3 (NES)
Knights of the Round (SNES)
King of Dragons (SNES)
There's quite a few more that I really like, but these are just off the top of my head. I love this genre so much, it was my favorite as a kid growing up.
Mr.Machinery? Also WTF guys? no moonwalker? Ok I see how it is you guys don't like good games. Not even the Genesis version was mentioned? Ouch guys.Jakandsigz
The arcade was a great beat-em up. But the home ports really took a big hit.

Don't know. Genesis version has faster input than the arcade version and was decent.Favorite one that I've played would be the original Viewtiful Joe. It's one of the only games where I bothered with the higher difficulties.
I can always get into a game or two ... Or 50 ... Of "Golden Axe 2" or "Golden Axe 3" (I like the controls and combos better in 2 & 3, than I do in the first game).
What did you like about Golden Axe 2? I have seen it called a 'soulless sequel' (nintendolife), but it has always interested me. I only played a little bit on the Genesis collection for the PS2.Arcade:
- Altered Beast
- Final Fight
- Golden Axe
- Spider-Man: The Arcade
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Arcade Game
- X-Men: The Arcade Game
Genesis:
- Comix Zone
- Golden Axe II
NES:
- Double Dragon 1-3
SNES:
Emerald_Warrior
- Marvel Super Heroes: War of the Gems
- Maximum Carnage (Spider-Man & Venom)
- X-Men: Mutant Apocalypse
To the OP: SoR2, Golden Axe (arcade), Double Dragon (arcade), Double Dragon 2 (NES), Knights of the Round... and I'm going to go out on a limb and say Brawl Brothers. Not the best, but it deserves some lovin'.
If you like Golden Axe, then there's not reason not to like Golden Axe II. It's more of the same, just with some different bad guys and different creatures that you ride.
I have also read that throwing enemies also knocks other enemies down. Sounds like a +1 in my book. Is this the one with branching paths? If you like Golden Axe, then there's not reason not to like Golden Axe II. It's more of the same, just with some different bad guys and different creatures that you ride.

Beat-em ups are where you beat-up hordes of enemies, often followed-up with an end-level boss. Tekken is a 1-on-1 fighting game. A little bit different.

He's probably referring to the beat 'em up mini game called, "Tekken Force", which pitted the player in various stages against enemies in a side-scrolling fashion. It was a new game mode added to the Tekken franchise first seen in Tekken 3.

That's cool. I didn't know that. Kind of like the opposite of the NES version of Double Dragon having that extra 1-on-1 fighting mode.

Streets of Rage 2 had a 1-on-1 fighting mode too, come to think of it. Didn't know the NES Double Dragon had one though.

So does Turtles in Time. I remembered playing the beat em' mode a lot in Tekken 5, I didn't remember if the games before that had it or not. Please Log In to post.
