I know achievements are not the be all and end all of games and they're not as sought after as they once were but has this ever happened to anyone?

I'm currently playing Trials Fusion (one of the most hellish experiences of my life...) - I'm about half way through the career mode and have yet to accomplish anything achievements wise.

It's a little bit embarrassing...

Don't think it's possible. You will at least get some sort of achievement for finishing the game.

I remeber though that I hardly had any achievements when I finished Max Payne 3.

Oh yes. I do this all the time on PS2, GC, Wii, DS and OXB.

Achievement/trophy hunters make Trump look smart.

What if I get the achievements/ trophies in my favorite games exclusively. Or am I still an idiot regardless?

Personally like most achievements, it's kinda like getting a hi-score, personal satisfaction if you will. It's showing I've unlocked all the content and gotten good at the game.

Achievements? I don't need no stinkin' achievements

Seriously, when they started doing achievements, that was the day we stopped playing games for the sake of gaming and started playing them for the sake of intangible, pointless reward. "Insert time, get bullshit" says the developer "it cost's us nothing and it keeps you playing our game with literally no added content"

Nah, that's me being cynical as hell, though. It's just gaming, achievements are just extra.

Yep. Quite a few, in fact. See, Steam's achievement system is a bit uneven; sometimes it will unlock in Offline Mode, while other times you have to be online. I used to use Offline Mode very frequently, so I would complete games like Bastion and Dawn of War II without unlocking a single achievement.

I don't think it's possible. At least with Xbox games.

Quite often, in fact I've played multiple games for years without a single achievement unlocked.
Granted this was before achievements were a thing.

It is impossible in this day and age with trophies/acheivements.

You at least have one for finishing the game.

Like playing The Last Of Us or The Last Gardian. You could play the whole thing and unlock nothing until the credit roll and give you at least a trophy for finishing it.

Otherwise I can't think of a game that didn't have story related trophies or thing super easy to unlock.

The only thing that comes to my mind is if you use cheat codes in Grand Theft Auto V, it disables achievements when using cheat codes and I guess it maybe well possible to complete the game while under the cheat codes since they won't let you get any achievements and I'm talking about Xbox 360/One versions.

What's wrong with having a hobby within a hobby? Your bashing is baseless and ignorant.

Anyway, it's not something I've experienced. I've maybe played through a few games where I didn't get a trophy until I beat it. The Last of Us is almost an example because I had earned one random trophy and then a couple of trophies at the end for beating it. Of course, there were also only like 20 some trophies in the base game.

I don't think this is possible on games with achievements. Like some of them will hand you an achievement on a silver platter so you feel good about about yourself.

@henrythefifth: Hmmm, that's a very dipshit thing to say.

Who appointed you king of how everyone plays their games? If people like trophy/achievement hunting what's it matter?

I finished Blue Dragon on the 360 with only 30/1000 gamerscore in about 80hrs.

I did do another playthrough and got the full 1000 though.

Well the obvious example would be games without achievements. I recently finished Sonic Mania on the Switch with no achievements :P

I used to play loads of games for the achievements/trophies. Now I just kick back and enjoy the game with no guides. Instead of my games having 80-100% of the achievements, they now have 10-30%.

However, my crowning achievement I feel:

Actually you can't because finishing a game is already an achievement.
