Couple questions about Metroid Zero Mission

After defeating Ridley i came accross this Chozo statue that is on the map but is destroid. Is it suppose to be that way or is it something i did in the game that caused it.

Also i am now at a point where i beleive i am about to face Mother Brain. But i know there are still a lot of areas left to uncover. Is there more to be done after defeating Mother Brain or is that the end of the game?

It's supposed to be like that, keep exploring.

The last boss isn't Mother Brain. There's plenty more to go after her.
