Biggest disappointments in 2018

I have few of mine:

1. Diablo sequel was announced, for cellphones only.

2. New Tony Hawk Pro Skater game was announced, for cellphones only.

3. Super Robot Wars DD was announced, for Japanese cellphones only.

4. Phantom Brigade, Dual Gear and Phoenix Point will not going to be released in this year.

5. Red Dead Online release was bare-bones with unbalanced economy, although it is improving and many times better than Fallout 76.

6. Total War: Three Kingdoms was delayed to Spring 2019.

7. Code Vein was delayed to 2019(TBA)

8. The most disappointing game of 2018: New Gundam Breaker

Good news of 2018:

Square-Enix officially stopped milking Final Fantasy XV as its director, Tabata left the company to start his own and several of its DLCs have been cancelled except Episode Ardyn.

Probably the fact that RDR2 controlled so poorly I had to sell it after the first few hours.

For me personally? Lack of new monsters or G-Rank in MH:W. The game is great but always hungry for more content.

None really.

None but then I don't do hype, which is usually the problem.

No real disappointment except in myself

RDR2 by far. Everything in the game was last gen and anti-fun.

Episode Luna cancellation. What the **** square??????

Getting excited for a new Fallout game being teased and then watching a trailer that made it seem like it would be a spin-off similar to Fallout New Vegas, only then to almost immediately find out that it was going to be an online only game.

For me personally was Spider-Man. Not a bad game, but from the ones I bought and played that was a huge disappointment. Particularly because I started the game with a very good impression and the more I played the more I disliked the game.

my thoughts exactly

1-We Happy Few had elements to be an instant classic, and in some ways it is, but this game could have been so much more. I still love it though.

2-I'm disappointed I wasted a weekend playing Spider-Man.

3-I'm disappointed that my Switch wasn't worth keeping anymore, and that 3DS nor Vita have any real successors.

4-I'm disappointed in gamers. Specifically the ones who continue to support games like Fallout76, Destiny 2, etc. and the ones who pretend like games such as Spider-Man are great.

5-Kind of sad that people think mobile games are ruining gaming, when those bucks finance their older brothers

6- Disappointed that Skate 4, Splinter Cell, nor Fatal Frame 6 exist.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider

For me it was playing God Of War and Assassin's Creed.

Hearing nothing about a new splinter cell.

The biggest disappointment is the normal "trolls" in a thread like this bashing a popular game just because it´s well popular.

But outside the above Nintendo and especially Zelda, thought it would be a lot better than it was.

Well, Tabata left SE and all planned FFXV DLCs had to be cancelled. I know lots of FFXV are disappointed but at least SE stopped milking FFXV and focused on Kingdom Hearts 3 and other planned projects. For me this is the best news I ever heard in many years.

Good for you and bad for me, I just want my final fantasy full of lore and story. KH3 is already confirmed in jan 2019 anyway whats the worry.

Definitely my biggest let down was God of War, I was mega hyped for it but I just could not get into it at all. I do want to give it another chance at some point but the game did not hook me at all and I don't really know why. I thought the concept of Nordic mythology was awesome, and I did welcome the new story aspects. I actually really enjoy the story, from what I have played of it, it is intriquing, well written, and extremely well acted. I like the relationship between Kratos and his son, and the supporting cast that I have met so far are generally likeable.

I just don't enjoy the combat as much as I did in the other games, I also feel like there are lots of long boring sections of just walking around, and the pace is much slower than what I want out of a gow game.

@pook99: Yeah I got bored with God of War IV as well. Still beat all the story on 'Give me God of War' by the easily exploitable shield parry. Always planned to go back and beat all those extra objectives, never did.

Felt the game had to many streamlined features and noticeable flaws for me to consider it. Oh well, maybe one day.

None for me. Although I would've liked to see some more tracks added to MK8 Deluxe.

@henrythefifth: Obvious trolling. It's a good looking game, and yeah the controls are a bit sluggish, and they have to fix input lag.

Anyway for me it's Metal Gear Survive. I thought Konami would make great games after Kojima left, but they just screwed it up, by making it re-use assets from Metal Gear 5 and make it a Survival Game. The game is better than Fallout 76, but the fact that Konami made people pay $10 for extra save slots in a game is unacceptable.

Probably Shadow of Tomb Raider. It's funny, I liked the first reboot back in 2013, because it was fresh and it reminded me of Uncharted (and, if I had to compare Uncharted 1 with TR, I'd say TR wins), I even sort of liked Rise of Tomb Rider, even though it was mostly the same (but mostly did not like the fact that you again had to unlock everything, which you've unlocked playing the first part, as if Lara had amnesia or something). But the third... after 4 hours of gameplay, I just gave up. Nothing innovative. Everything's the same as in 1 and 2. And the most thing that pissed me off? This time, you are not in a Japanese jungle. Or not even in Siberian taiga. No... you are in Amazon jungle in South America! Whooo-hooo. And, this time, your main enemies are animals, because really, 90 percent of my gameplay I've spent killing animals rather than humans (humans, were are you in this game)?

Biggest disappointment for 2018 is Nvidia overcharging their new GPU the RTX graphics cards out of pure greed! And to make matters worst, the 2080 & 2070 aren't that much of a leap either, totally letdown all because Nvidia is overcharging it's consumers.

As for games, none to speak of really, I enjoy God of War 2018, Marvel's Spider-Man, (R.I.P Stan Lee) Detroit Being Human, and Call of Duty Black Ops 4. If their is just one game I was piss off, it's Sea of Thieves.

The PlayStation Classic, it's prob going to flop so hard that I doubt we'll see a PS2 classic now sadly.
