We've past the awful year that was 2020 and can move onto 2021 and hopefully get back to our old lives again. We can also hope to look forward to the future of gaming with the release of the PS5 and XBox Series X out now and the following ten most anticipated games that I am looking forward to this year.

10: CrisTales

Platform: PC, Stadia, PS4, PS5, Switch, XBox Series X

Developer: Dreams Uncorporated SYCK

CrisTales is a highly anticipated RPG with a combat system and gameplay mechanics where you can jump between the past, the present and the future at any point allowing to see the different timelines. The actions you make in the game greatly affect the timelines allowing you to see how everything plays out. This is a solid looking RPG you might want to check out.

9: Resident Evil VIllage

Platform: PS5, XBox Series X, PC

Developer: Capcom

With how Capcom returned their survival horror to its roots with Resident Evil 7 they are looking to continue the tread with Resident Evil Villege. Going back to the First Person Perspective while also maintaining the horror aspects that made the previous game amazing. It's going to have a haunted village similar to Resident Evil 4 and plus it will have returning characters Ethan Cole and Chris Redfield. Resident Evil VIllage

8: Hitman III

Platform: PS4, PS5, XBox One, XBox Series X, PC, Switch, Stadia

Developer: IO Interactive

Finally a third numbered entry in the Hitman franchise, we're stepping back in the shoes of Agent 47 a well trained assassin going to various locations, making use of stealth mechanics and assassinating various targets. So far it looks fantastic and we can't wait to take on assassinations.

7: Vampire The Masquerade Bloodlines 2

Platform: PS4, PS5, XBox One, XBox Series X, PC

Developer: Hardsuit Labs

Vampire The Masquerade despite selling so poor it has managed to earn a cult following and now years later it is finally getting with a sequel. It is a game where you get have different vampire abilities to use and you can join one of several vampire clans. It is going to have different activities to do as well as plenty of missions that you can do as well. This game is looking to be a really good decent sequel that hopefully tops the original in many aspects in comparison to other games that play like it.

6: Psychonauts 2

Platform: PC, XBox One, XBox Series X, PS4

Developer: Double Fine

Psychonauts was one of those games that was just dying for a sequel and now it is finally getting one after how much the fanbase loved the first game. So far everything looks absolutely promising and the gameplay and the graphics look superb. Let's hope this lives to the original game in every way.

5: Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart

Platform: PlayStation 5

Developer: Insomniac Games

After how good the Ratchet & Clank (2016) game was we were ready to dive back with the duo with the announcement of Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart. It will have the gameplay of the previous game but also it is going to have a rift system which allows to warp between areas. This one to going to be a really good entry in the series.

4: Horizon Forbidden West

Platform: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5

Developer: Guerrilla Games

Guerrilla Games who formally worked on the Killzone franchise worked on a fantastic new IP with Horizon Zero Dawn. It was a well executed game thanks to brilliant gameplay where you take on machines and the combat was solid. The sequel looks to live up to the original but the environments will be bigger and it will include underwater exploration. We can't wait to dive back into the post-apocalyptic world in Horizon Forbidden West.

3: Back 4 Blood

Platform: PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, XBox One, XBox Series X, PC

Developer: Turtle Rock Studios

After more than a decade since we had Left 4 Dead 2 we are getting a spiritual successor in the form of Back 4 Blood. It carries the gameplay of the Left 4 Dead games where 4 players are playing as 4 survivors called the Cleaners fighting against the infected known as the Ridden. The game is going to have a range of different range of Infected to take care and players have to work together to make it through. Nice to see Turtle Rock Studios making a return to coop zombie survival games and this is sure to deliver.

2: God of War Ragnorok

Platform: PlayStation 5

Developer: Santa Monica Studio

2018 saw the return of Kratos in the God of War Reboot and it was a masterpiece, well praised for it's excellent storytelling, incredible gameplay and the design was top notch. The developers are now working on the sequel and we can hope it reaches the same level of hype and quality as the 2018 reboot. With the power of the PlayStation 5 I'm sure it will be incredible.

1: Tales of Arise

Platform: PlayStation 4/XBox One

Developer: Bandai Namco Entertainment

With the Tales of Series raising after Tales of Berseria, Tales of Vesperia Definitive Edition and their recent mobile outing Tales of Crestoria everything is going better than ever for the long running J-RPG series. With the series celebrating the 25th Anniversary and Bandai Namco having a look back at the previous games they are perhaps planning something in the future which I can't wait to see what it is, that alongside the upcoming new Tales of game Tales of Arise. I can't wait to dive into the new Tales of Game's storyline and also enjoy its new combat system which I hope surpasses Tales of Berseria's.
