Any reason to keep the xbox one or the ps4 after upgrading to the next gen systems?

IDK if i should keep it or try to pawn them off.
I see there is basically 95% capability kinda. Which is the reason to sell.
But i want to know does that count for import tittles as well.
IDK I don't like buying on the used market like I did for the wii. I sold it for the wii u. Then ended up buying the wii again, in the used market for gamecube support since the new tv had component and gamecube components are utter rare. Not the same condition i had my original system which was a regret.

It’s really debatable. But I always regretted selling off my older consoles as I always for some reason wanted to go back and play them at one point or another. But if you’re not going to use them whatsoever, then the answer is clear.

I got rid of my PS4. Just gave it away to my sister. Only have a handful of PS4 games anyway.

Simple answer_ no

Long answer_

It was always my plan to give-away my PS4 to a certain charity when the data transfer was successful with no downside. Was successful on the data end, and very easy to-do.

However, have yet to give the PS4 away. I've read some concerns with the PlayStation 5 that have me holding off the give-away just yet; though am yet to experience any of them honestly. Starting to think it's the typical immature internet rumors.

Will probably wait till February just in case, if my PS5 is still working fine (and the Duel Sense controller) will send my PS4, a few games (that I never revisited), and my Dual Shock 4 controllers.

My PS4 was only getting drastically worse overtime so unlikely the actual box will be much benefit to anyone, over the controllers and games anyhow.

As someone who still owns the original Gameboy, a Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, PS1, N64, PS2, Gamecube, Neo Geo Pocket Color, PS3, Xbox 360 and PS4. I'd say pawn them off.

Why? PS4 and Xbox One systems seems to be a bit "meh". PS4 is the only console I actually wouldn't care if I gave it away. That's if I had a PS5 and it was backwards compatible.

They could be useful as backups or secondary systems, at least. They may be a few reasons I'm not thinking of though.

Cross gen will be around for a long time and the games are cheaper on old gen.

If I own a PS5/Xbox Series X, I probably still keep my PS4/Xbox One just in case. Unless I didn't want to have those systems and needed the money.
