I would have to say harvest moon,it's really fun and addicting... but so's animal crossing.

You're going to have to get a little bit more specific. You're comparing one franchise with 2 games vs another with about a dozen. Either way I think I prefer Harvest Moon. The only thing I really liked about Animal Crossing on GC was getting the NES games as gifts. There just always seemed to be a little bit more to do in Harvest Moon too, regardless of the hour.

Harvest moon, i thought it was cool being able to get married and have kids, that and there's people instead of animals;).

Harvest Moon. It's pretty much the same game as Animal Crossing but more structured and more goal-oriented. Yet at the same time if you just want to mess around like in Animal Crossing you still can. And the social interaction in Harvest Moon is much more advanced than that in Animal Crossing, with actually interesting characters.
