It's been 20 years of BF... what are your favorite games in the series?

For me in order it would go like this.

3. Battlefield 3

2. Battlefield Bad Company 2

1. Battlefield 2- my favorite in the series by far so many great memories playing it back in the day so many classic maps, fun gameplay not to arcadey but not a sim either somewhere in the middle.

My first one was bfbc2 and I didn't like it a lot. It was a ok shooter. But the bfs after that one were all good ones. Bf3,4 and 1. Bf5 and 2042 are crap shoots.

Nope I remember I never played it but I really liked the concept especially the SP how it played out like a tv cop series.

I don't feel like the average BF player really hates Hardline. It's more just that it doesn't really feel like a BF game. Personally, I really enjoyed it when it came out, but the graphic style, the "cops vs robbers" and the slightly more arcadey feel made it seem more like a completely different game than one in the BF franchise. It wasn’t even made by DICE however, was made by Visceral hence most don't consider part of BF in its namesake. And that's another thing, if it was just called Hardline but leave BF's name out of it and set in BF universe as its own thing, it would have given Hardline a new identify in the gaming world.

You can find the game dirty cheap these days so I recommend giving it a try if you can.

1. Battlefield 2142- Titan mode memories. Also, probably the most simultaneously generic and unique BF game. It was a more polished BF2, but had some cool new ideas.

2. Battlefield V- The most mechanically sound BF game. It's very fluid and plays so well. Squad revives added so much to team-play. Shame people ignored it because of pettiness over female soldiers in WWII.

3. Battlefield 4- Best variety of maps/weapons

1942 - It's the OG. Blew my mind when I first played it.

BF2 - The leap from the first game to this was yuuuge. Awesome DLC.

BF3 - Best maps in the modern era BF games. Aftermath was incredible.

BF4 - Gameplay wise, it's the best overall. Not my favorite maps tho. Most stunk or were just meh.

Gimme BF3 maps with BF4's gameplay and you have the perfect Battlefield game.

1. BF3 - Was what started me with the entire the series.

2. BF4 - After the bugs were cleaned up, I sunk hours into this game. I would be up at 6am playing rounds after rounds lol.

3. BFV - Outside of the controversy surrounding the game when it was still releasing, which was one of the few times I wasn't on board with the critical side, the game is actually fun. I can say that I am sinking a reasonable amount of hours into it and some servers along with the squad you join can really make you stay for awhile. Add on the fact that I have a better understanding of the class system, and it can be a very fun experience that has kept me around way longer than I would have imagined.

1. BF2
2. 2142
3. Bad Company 2

The later stuff is bad. Started feeling like CoD with BF3 and never went back to what was good.

100 percent agree about BF3 and Battlefield 2 is easily the best game in the series. IMO

3) Battlefield 4 (I'm also not a fan of the maps in this game)

4) Battlefield 1

1. Bf4. Great maps, great expansions…and fun.

2. BF1. Changed up a franchise, and attacking a dreadnaught is still fun.

3. Bf2. Probably the last bf as it was meant to be.

I loved every single bf game except hardline and 2042, and have put more hours into this franchise than any other.

The ones I have enjoyed the most are BF 1942, BF 2, and BF V.

Pretty much this. BF2 is and always will be the highlight of the series imo. Perfect blend of arcade and realism, as you said.

Honorable mention: BF 2142. I liked the future setting. I absolutely LOVED "Titan Mode", something I think Battlefield 3 (or was it 4?) brought back with the carriers. And I loved the mechs, the hover tanks, and my anti-tank rifle haha.

Truth be told I have more or less enjoyed all the BF games up until the last few. BF 1 was a neat concept but I don't think WWI was a good setting, BF V was a bit too "more of the same", and I couldn't even play all ten hours of the trial for BF 2042.

Only played Bad Company 2, 3 and 4 properly and I'd say that is also the order I would rank them from best to 'worst'.
