Perhaps because of spam issues. I see a lot of users (not everybody) having a question and even though there are only 2 real options for the poll, they add in another 3 junk options. If we could add more options then i could see even more of this happening in the future. Obviously, there would be users who would make good use of more options but if it creates more spam in places, it is not worth it.
