Pokemon Genesect code

Hi

i wanted to use the genesect code (GENESECT20) on my games pokemon y and alpha sapphire( i did not got them in november) but i cant collect it,it keeps saying :Your game card cannot receive the gift provided by this code.

does anyone knows why it keep doing this and maybe a solution please react before 28 febuary (after that day the code expires thx in advance
