Overrated
I recently bought this game because the other reviewers made it sound good. It isn't. OK, the graphics are acceptable, and there's a few different race types to play with, but thats as far as it goes.
All the cars handle pretty much identically, regardless of which wheels are driving. The tracks are too easy, and hardly ever need you to use the brakes - the cars slide out so easily you can get round hairpin bends with a slight lift of the throttle.
I played it for a couple of hours when it was delivered, and didn't lose a single race - after the first 2 or 3 races I didn't even bother with the easy or medium levels as what this game considers to be hard isn't particularly challenging.
It's basically an arcade game, complete with an annoying voice over which does nothing except state the obvious by letting you know you've won a race - as if you didn't already know.
I guess this game could be enjoyable if you are shopping for something simple, but experienced race simulation fans should steer well away from it. I'm just glad I only spent a couple of quid on a second hand version.
