The most Fun you can have in a Car
You probly know already about the Fun and Disturbing Mini-games , the unique crashes and the great graphics. so there isnt much left to review , i can just offer the advice that this is one of those titles you need in your library , i have never experienced a game like this to date . This racer looks , feels and plays like nothing out there.
With Flatout 2 set for release in the upcoming weeks , how can you Recconmend this title ? all i can say is You Must Own This Game !
the graphics are superb with the cars smashing up like nothing i have ever seen . levels are beautiful even tho they arent varied , some of the levels feel the same just with a slightly different layout.
the handling is not realistic but who cares because its fun , Not every Racer needs to be realistic. Flying and sliding through racers and running other cars off road is just a great gaming experience.
The sending the driver out of the window does feel like a gimmick , its fun the first couple of times in races but then gets old .But using this feature in minigames is where it is used best . the mini games are fun and brutal , luckily there is no blood , or this game would have a higher rating , the drivers bodie flys around much like my beloved riders from the dave mirra series , as they are made of rubber , but they still make me cringe when they land.
Sound is a tad off , maybe its my old xbox but the engine noise sounds a bit muffled, crashes sound ok and the music is pretty good for no-named talent , but i dont like how the re-loop the same song in a race.
Custom Soundtracks is missing , but i dont mind listening to an In-game soundtrack for once , specialy in this case.
Difficulty will range during the Career mode where you will find that the AI becomes much smarter in the later races , but casual gamers and experience racers are sure to have fun anyway.
Other than the Career mode , Quick race mode offers you all the tracks including the bonus minigames , and destruction derby arenas.
Destruction derby racers are of course ...fun and with the beautiful graphics and damage , it makes the experience even better.
Overall Flatout is a game You MUst Have in your collection. without playing the Latest installment , all i can say is Flatout is the most fun you can have in a car to date.
