User Rating: 8.6 | Firefighter Command: Raging Inferno PC
Firefighter Command: Raging Inferno is a Strategy game that pits you in control of a fire commander whos main job is putting out fires. This game is not as easy as it sounds. Along with putting out fires, you have to decide which type of fire it is, which fire agent you will need to extinguish the fire with, what civilians are in the area and do they need to be rescued, etc. You start every game with a briefing showing you where the fire has started, where your firehouse will enter the game and where your fire hydrants are located. From there you are thrown into the mix and you better start making the right decisions or you will fail your mission. Upon completing your mission, you are given a rating on how well you did your job. This includes if anyone was hurt or died in the mission, how much damage was done (or prevented) including not only structures, but your vehicles as well. Once you complete a mission, you move onto the next. This will take you through a series of 15 missions all together.

The difficulty of this game is surprisingly hard. Upon playing the medium level, I found myself restarting every mission at least once, but usually its more like 3-5 times. This can be frustrating to some, but it really depends on how you go about doing your job. A house that was destroyed this time may be able to be saved next time if you do something different. For this reason, the game does have a re-playability about it, especially if you want to tackle the hard levels and go for perfection in the missions.

Your interaction with controlling the firefighters doesnt just mean shoot your hose here and thats it. You also need to rescue civilians by taking them to the ambulance, you need to break windows to allow smoke to escape. Failing to do so will make the room explode into flames in time. You can open doors, but if you are not careful, you can have a backdraft occur. To prevent this, you need to break the door down with your axe. Water cannons are available in a few missions to help spray a blanket of water onto structures to prevent them from catching fire or putting out large areas of fire. You will need to monitor your water supply and replenish from water sources such as hydrants and lakes. Some missions have air support in the means of helicopters and planes that can extinguish large areas at a time.

One thing I would change about this game is the fact that you have reinforcements, but you can only deploy them when the computer allows you too. I guess it makes sense since you could just deploy them immediately at the start and control everything really fast. But still, it would be nice to be able to call them when you want ..... Other than that, this is a great challenging game with good graphics (for this type of game) and I would recommend it to others. I give it a 8.6 out of 10. I will be playing this one for some time. There is just something "fun" about it.... Check it out if you can.
