Final Fight is a classic sidescrolling beat-'m-up. You can play it on your own, but the real fun is going out onto the dangerous citystreets with a friend and kick some ass. The mayor's daughter is kidnapped and his means the mayor is going to take some action...personally! You can choose between the Mayor Haggar, the girl's boyfriend Cody or his gay pal Guy (who also appears in streetfighter alpha). You walk from left to right as you bust up gangmembers. The gangmembers all have names and lifebars so you can see who you are beating up. My version included woman, but it's possible that in the US version they have been replaced by guys, since Capcom US had a problem with beating up woman. At the end of a stage you encounter a boss, many of which also appear in the streetfifgter alpha series like Sodom (aka Katana), Rolento and Hugo Andore. At your disposal are knives and metal pipes. In between stages you can also destroy cars, just for the hell of it. When you make it to the end, and this does take some practice, you get to fight a guy in a wheelchair. He is pretty quick though, has lots of health and a machine gun. Final fight turned out to be not so final after all since there were a number of sequels. Anyway, it's a nice videogame to play with a friend or little brother.
