Feels like the grandiose Final Fantasy VI (FF3 in the US) from the SNES

User Rating: 9.4 | Final Fantasy XII PS2
First let me say that I have been playing the Final Fantasy series (from here on as FF) since the NES days (yeah...I'm that old and more).

I consider my favorite FF of all time as being in this order:
FFVI
FFIX
FF2
FFVII

For some I never liked FFX, and then as time went by, I sort of started disliking the FF games. Being old as I am, I got tired of "random encounters", "turn-based combat", and the winner....left-sided-spiky-haired-heroes.

Now comes FF12...I wasn't hyped at all about it. However when I heard of the changes they did with this new itiration, my interest was sparked. No longer having to switch in a different screen for combat- which is great for exploration and keeps the flow and pace of the game going. No longer having to micromanage everything- now you have the option to be sort of like a commander for your AI.

The game has that extra touch that is so rare in games nowadays. As a matter of fact, the more I play it, the more I feel that FF12 is like FFVI- with its epic warfare, good plot, great characters, entertaining gameplay.

This is a must own for anyone who has a PS2. With my little 21 years of gaming experience, I highly recommend this game.

FF is back to its good ol roots and made me love the series again. True, this might be the last great game on PS2, but I have to admit, the PS2 is saying good-bye with one heck of a splendid bang!
