This is the reason I bought a PS2.

User Rating: 10 | Final Fantasy XII PS2
When I bought a PS2 I thought I was gonna be able to play Final Fantasy XI cuz I was expecting an SRPG game in full 3D graphics, I was turned off by the fact that it was online functional only. So, here comes Final Fantasy XII, which is far better than XI in that it breaks both genres to become a hybrid of sorts, and quite successful project. An amazing game based on novel gameplay mixing real-time strategy and turn-based rpg. Also inspired visuals, sweeping soundtrack the best music I have heard from an FF game by far, and an Ivalice setting based on its little GBA counterpart FFTA. While there was a massive Ivalice world, the game was compact and concise enough to express that within a single and not multpie disc. It clearly met the producers ambitions. The character development is deep and complex, and always varies from one FF game to the next. There is no bias, no clear cut dilineation on how to the player should develop a certain character, and the best part is that the characters are not cookie cutted from a formulaic rpg, no pleas to sentimentality or love to bore you with, there is always a bit of unpredictability and novelty to this one. A definite keeper.
