User Rating: 9.4 | Final Fantasy X (Mega Hits!) PS2
Final Fantasy X is a revolutionary mark in the RPG genre. Never before has an RPG had such a flawless battle system as in FFX. Many people were turned off by the Final Fantasy games for their frequent random battles and slow-timed battle systems. But Final Fantasy X has eliminated the active time battle (ATB) system found in all the previous FF games. Now, an entire battle could be played in the same amount of time it takes to load a battle in FFIX. The players take their turns in order, depending on their agility (speed), and you simply choose which action you want to do on your turn, and it is immediately done. But you should strategize carefully, since the bosses are very challenging. And this game is very cinematic. In fact, close to half of your playtime with this game will be FMVs, cinematics, and dialogs. It does get tiring, but you'll appreciate the great story and gameplay. All of the characters are interesting and likeable, except for the main character, Tidus. He is nothing more more than a Leonardo DiCaprio clone. ~Ugh~ To sum up the characters, there is a black mage, two blitzball players, a thief, a swordsman, a beast, and a summoner. And the aeons are cool too. This game is now $40, and is easily worth $60. I bought a PS2 for this game. Go play it.
