Final Fantasy X is as much a joy to watch as it is to play.

Yes, it's true ... I bought a PS2 just to play Final Fantasy X. I can now say it was the best purchase I ever made. Not only was I very pleased with the PS2 (I got the DVD controller, too, so I could kick back and watch DVDs), but FFX simply blew me away. When this game first started I swore I was watching a movie with real people. The artwork, settings, and animations were total eyecandy. Half the time I just sat back and admired the scenery. And the story is more deeply involving than any RPG I've played to date. The battle system is another major plus, and the "Sphere Grid" (where you pick and choose the abilities of each character) is pure addiction.

I remember when I was first playing the game my mom stopped by and she asked what movie I was watching. When I told her it was a video game she looked at me like I was batty. She ended up sitting down and watching me play for a while. We were both mesmerized by the realistic graphics on this game. And the battles are spectacular. As with all FF games the monsters you encounter are a main part of the fun, and FFX does not disappoint. It is especially cool watching the aeons. The aeon is a monster summoned to perform devastating attacks against enemies by Yuna, the game's main Summoner, and their overdrive attacks are impressive to behold.

This game is sure to impress anyone, especially FF fans. There are dozens of hours worth of game play here, and of course there are plenty of side quests. I definitely recommend you rush right out and get this game. You don't necessarily have to buy a PS2, but it helps.
