Have now watched Advent Children 20 times...

and I am still loving it. It is one of my favourite films of all time and is definitely my most watched film. I love everything about it and it is an awesome sequel worthy of the Final Fantasy 7 name.

The film is set in the aftermath of Final Fantasy 7 and shows the people of Edge (Midgar got destroyed, remember?) trying to rebuild their lives. However when Aeris saved the planet using the lifestream, a desiese know as geostigma was also released and started to poision everyone.
Cloud and Tifa have adopted Marlene and Denzel. Denzel is a child with the geostigma, Marlene was Dynes daughter from FF7.

While the game was about life and death the film is about forgiveness. I couldnt tell this the first few times i watched it as I hadnt played FF7 then but after I did i appreciated the film ten-fold. It made me cry, how Aeris only wanted to tell Cloud that she didn't blame him and that everything was fine, but couldn't get through to him. Cloud also has the geo-stigma but he battles on and eventually pulls through. He starts of weak and grows stronger, almost as if he is recovering from the emotional scars FF7 left on him.

I have watched a lot of animated films, as I have a younger bro and sis, but I have to say this is the best animated film I have seen. The way Cloud, Tifa and the others have been made for the film is absolutely outstanding and the whole thing is absolutely gorgeous. The fight scenes arte also awesome and they are well constructed. Gun blades, huge swords, what more can you need. And as is mandatory in FF Bahamut makes an appearance.

The music in the film is absolutely outstanding once again. I absolutely loved the music in the original game and this builds on it and makes it better, sad in the places it needs to be sad and epic in the places it needs to be epic. The reconstructions of the songs Aeris theme, Tifas theme and the one winged angel are outstanding and I love all of the music. I am usually a metal-head but the music in this is on a par with the music in 7, and you instantly recognize the tunes.

So i think this is my favourite film and i absolutely love it.
