Final Fantasy VI is by far the greatest of the old era Final Fantasy games.

Though it has been outdone since its release, when it came out in 1994 it was the undeniable king of RPGs. It had the look, it had the story, and it had the heart. It was an imaginative, creative role-playing game that took about every good aspect of the genre and incorperated it in to solid classic. It's hard to explain this game that well without going in to all out detail about it, so I'll keep it short. Final Fantasy VI is a great game, on all right, one of the best of all time. If you feel like RPGs have strayed too far from the old-school dragons and knights like stories, but you want a rather complex and engaging game, look no further than Final Fantasy VI. On all accounts it's a highly recommendable game and anyone with an SNES or a Playstation for the Final Fantasy Anthology should pick it up without hesitation. It surely won't disappoint you, even after all of this time.
