If you put all of the final fantasy games in a cauldron and mixed them up.. final fantasy 6 would be the result.
First of all, final fantasy 6 is a role playing game developed by square about 10 years ago.. but was remade on the GBA only a few years ago.
If RPG games aren't your genre then stay away from ff6 or don't expect to get much out of it.
The story is based around a girl called 'terra' who is half esper and half human.. you join a group called 'the returners' to fight against the imperialistic empire who want the espers power to control the world.
At the start of the game you'll find your self having to want to play the game, final fantasy 6 isn't game you can just pick up and play.
Especially the first hour or two seem actually kind of dull.
Graphics aren't great.. but your eyes can adapt (myn did) some textures can be bad and animations boring, but again, there easy to adapt to and the gameplay makes up for it.
Combat is turn based and when outside you get 'random encounters' - often you get to many random encounters.. this is really frustrating.
Each of your characters has their own special type of weapon, for example- your ninja wields knives and swords and one of your characters only uses hand based weapons...
One of the good things abut final fantasy 6 is that you can have any of your characters learn any type of magic through the 'esper' system.
When you equip an esper you start to learn whatever magic that esper will allow you to leanr.. they will also effect what stat will grow when you level up..
Music is all in MIDI format and can be loopy.. some tunes are quite catchy at times.. but most of the time they're really not.
I spent a lot of time grinding to.. which was boring- if your really looking for a solid RPG game with unique characters, fun story but outdated combat, graphics and music then ff6 is a cheap but satisfiying option xD
If you are a final fantasy fan you'll love the game anyways.. but if you haven't played final fantasy then.. give it a go :)
