If you enjoy listening to how well an RPG adventure went more than playing it yourself, then you'll like this.

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My life as a King may seem like a good game, especially for only 15 bucks, but after about a few hours it gets to be the same old thing every day, and to add variation (Which also gets old fast) you have to dump more of your money into it.

Let's say you have a friend who's recently been playing a new RPG, and tells you about it. Now, think for a moment. What sounds more fun to you; trying out the game yourself, or listening to how good he does whenever he goes to a new dungeon in this game. If you think the latter sounds more fun, then you will probably enjoy My life as a King. If you thought the latter sounds boring, then steer clear.

This is my primary complaint with the game; it's just boring. You have some control over things like what kind of class your characters are, or what kind of abilities they learn, but beyond that you get no control. Your hired adventurers control themselves. You don't any say as to how they fight in combat. You set their class, give them money for items, teach them abilities, and then get the results of their combat at the start of the day. You can get into some really in depth details for each combat too: You can see how much damage each and every attack dealt. Though honestly, reading these details doesn't hide the truth or make it any funner.

Looking past actual gameplay, the game has some decent graphics, and the rare occasion you do get to make a new building (And I do mean rare, thanks to the limits on buildings) it unfolds really well and looks really cool. But since you never get to see any actual monsters that's about where the graphics reach their peak of greatness. Also, the music isn't bad, but since it's the same thing every day, it starts to get repetitive after about a week of in-game time.

Long story short, the game is repetitive, lacks variety, and requires you dump in even more money for greater variety. If you enjoy listening to how well an RPG adventure went more than playing it yourself, then you'll like this game. Otherwise, don't waste your money.
