The best FIFA game in years, and certainly something to finally rival Pro Evo Soccer....

User Rating: 8.7 | FIFA 06 PSP
FIFA 2005 on PSP was a landmark in itself. Despite being a direct port, it was the first time we could play a fully 3D football game on a portable console - it had its flaws though, such as pauses when the ball left the field and the loading times.

Bring in FIFA 2006 - EA Sports have had more time to work on getting the game fit for use on the PSP and to iron out these issues. The game now runs smoothly and without the inexcusable pauses when the ball leaves play. The whole game now runs very smoothly and passing is much more fluid. My only complaint with the series still, is that players take a bit to long to respond to your button presses - if you're facing your own goal and trying to quickly clear the ball away, this is very noticable!!!!!

The game features millions of licensed players, teams, shirts, stadia and of course the awesome TV Style commentary. This year the commentators are ITVs (Thats a UK channel!) Clive Tyldesley and Andy Gray which is a change from the annoying yells from Ally McCoist! However, it still works really well and you'll certainly feel impressed when playing FIFA 06 on PSP of how well they have made the commentary sound.

Online and local multiplayer is included this time round also. Online is a great addition especially if you dont know any one with a PSP and this game. Connection is easy and fast and most of the time i've had no troubles getting playing with people. Its also LAG free most of the time, so applause to EA for this mode.

No franchise mode again, but the PSP style challenge mode, season mode, tournament mode and the new Juggling mini game (which to be honest is a waste of space really!) It'll still keep you coming back for more! This is certinaly the best FIFA i've played in years and something that will still hold its own when Pro Evo Soccer 5 is released for PSP in the next few months.... well done EA.
