One of the best games ever made for any platform. About as close to perfection as had been achieved.
You start off with nothing, first you buy your first spell and weapon and you are on your way. The game is paced perfectly so that you acquire gold and experience fast enough to keep up with the games evolving difficulty yet it stays a nice challenge. Some of the monsters that you will fight are excellent, some are worth a laugh, it combines action, role playing elements and platforming about as well as any game ever has in my opinion.
It also has some of the best graphics and sound you will see on the NES. I've always thought it was a beautiful game and do to this day.
I also like the shop that allows you to buy the second best shield and spell really early on, this shop actually makes for a whole new dimension. You can sit there for a good hour to earn the gold to buy both these and when you do it totally changes the game, it doesnt unbalance it though because early on you wont have the mana to abuse the spell and the shield can only protect from so much. Made the game worth a couple more play throughs for me.
Anyway, if you can find a copy, I highly reccomend grabbing it because you wont regret it. If you've already played it you know what Im talking about anyway. Enjoy.
