A game that messes with your dreams...

User Rating: 10 | Faxanadu NES

Faxanadu was my first NES game (here in Brazil we had the Phantom System, a clone of NES). I didn't had heard a word about it till the box came to my hands. I was a little frustrated, cause I wanted another game (that I can't remember) but, when I turned the power on... I was completly mesmerized! The music, the mood... The items, the progression of the character... I just can't describe the feeling of playing it. The graphics was simply outstanding for the time. But, when Mega Drive (or Genesis) came out, I sold my Faxanadu copy to buy a horrible game called "Fist of the North Star" (for MD). I regret it so much that I dreamt about it for years and years till a friend knew a guy that wanted to sell his copy. And there I go! Recover a big part of my childhood. The stages and the quests are very well made, even for today standards. I got myself playing it even in the Wii VC with a friend recently. It aged very well. I highly recommend it for classic players. Enjoy your gaming!
