Fallout 4 Review PS4

User Rating: 10 | Fallout 4 PS4

My take on Fallout 4 is one of complete enjoyment and ah. I have spent nearly 100 hours with the game so far, and without spoiling anything for you I would like to tell you why I believe that Fallout 4 is one of the greatest achievements in recent gaming memory.

The main take away when you play Fallout 4 is just how grand, and beautiful the world is. Now I understand that the graphics may seem a bit out of date but the game is huge, and I argue that it wouldn't be able to run on current gen consoles if the graphics were improved much more. There are just to many systems running, and just too many things going on around you for the game to be a visual spectacle and retain its adventurous allure.

This brings me to one of the main reasons why I believe Fallout 4 is a masterpiece and a must own. The amount of things that are available for the player to do at any given time. I can't count the number of times I was walking towards a quest marker just to get pulled to the side by something more attractive, only to find my self embedded within a multi hour long quest; that if I had not been exploring, may have never come to my attention.

That is the wonder of Fallout 4, and any Bethesda Game Studios game. It gives the player the option to really enjoy the game as he or she seems fit. If you just want the truncated version of Fallout 4 then you can just play the story. But if you want to dig into all that Fallout 4 has to offer you will find yourself embraced within the joy of what is the, in my own estimate, nearly 250 hours of game-play. That's not including the time that one could spend going back and making different choices to see the different outcomes.

Fallout 4 also adds many fantastic new elements to the Fallout world, while staying true to all the elements that made its predecessors great. The greatest addition to the Fallout world is the crafting system. This applies two fold when you are talking about weapon and armor crafting. The level of individuality that the weapon and armor modding systems add only helps to expand the immersive nature of Fallout 4. This along with the new settlement crafting system add many more layers and dozens of more hours to what is already an amazing game.

The biggest change made in Fallout 4 however is the ability for your character to talk. I was slightly skeptical about Bethesda changing the silent protagonist element of the game, but it work out to perfection here. The voiced dialog adds so much life and emotion to the cut scenes, that now I feel truly connected to my character.

All of the things that Bethesda changed in Fallout 4 worked to its advantage, and as I stated in the beginning Fallout 4 is one of the greatest achievements in recent gaming memory. Truly worthy of your time and money. Now let us all hope that Bethesda puts the time and effort that they clearly put into Fallout 4 into making the next Elder Scrolls game, cause I need my fix.

Score - 10/10 Essential
