Although this game isn't great, it isn't really that bad to deserve such a low score.
It is my own opinion, but I think that FaceBreaker didn't deserve a 3.5 rating. I think it is just me, but I didn't honestly find anything wrong with the controls, but like I said, it is probably just me. To me, the controls are simple and easy to pick up on. It took about 5 minutes and I already knew the controls well. The character list is great. Everyone was original and pretty funny and fun to beat up. But to unlock characters, you have to fight a certain number of fights. This is where it starts to go downhill. The AI is extremely hard, even on easy, when I started I literally lost about 20 matches in a row on easy. But when I finally won I felt like the fight was somewhat entertaining. The AI would almost never let you touch you and when about 30 seconds have passed, you have already been knocked out. They over use the breakers and charge up attacks so in 2 seconds your life goes down about halfway. Keep in mind this is STILL on EASY. I loved the character creation. It was so in-depth and fun to mess with i spent most of my time on the character customization than actually playing. That would be great if I ever actually wanted to fight my character, but I know he would be too hard to beat. The online fighting, on the other hand, was much better than fighting a computer. People actually aren't cheap when you fight, but sadly, it was hard for me to find a match. I agree that this game has a punishing difficulty with Cheap AI and causes you to button-mash.That FaceBreaker is stripped and all you can do is fight, fight online, and make fighters, and the character creation process is just great. I do disagree that this game has poor controls, and has long load times, but hey, it is probably just me.
I bought this game for about $7 and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, so if you want this game, wait until it is $3 or lower. I know I said this game didn't deserve such a low score because it can randomly be fun, But I didn't say it needed to get overrated, it still is a pretty disappointing game.
