Main part bang on shame its got a few niggling errors
The bulk of the game is brilliant, difficulty is just right, as long as you dont set it too easy, the graphics are sublime, and cars and tracks are represented beautifully. Even down to the detail of the engineer rather than a commentary is great and cant be faulted. Then the game comes into its own when it begins to rain, the rain dripping down your screen, and when your in another cars spray the screen blurs so you cant see a fat lot, just like a real F1 car. Also the F1 career mode is perfect, for die hard F1 fans will go to a long weekend, and you dont have to complete it in 1 go, auto save kicks in after each session, something that other game companies may not have implemented.
Sadly this game is riddled with errors, some are nothing new, and are in a lot of games after release, others though are an annoyance, sometimes not been able to get into your pit box, i had this once and had to start race again. But the main 1 been not getting out of your garage, this is especially bad when in qualifying and you need to put your softs on when thinking i can get through on primes, which are slower, which adds to the realism. This is 1 errors that has annoyed me, luckily its not hit me at a bad time, but it is an annoyance and hope Codies patch this soon.
Overall this game is a good building block for future F1 games and that Codies do learn from there mistakes, other include more info on the OSD i dont care about how fast there going just how far i am from them. The setup could do with more explaining, even for me someone who has followed F1 since the early 90s.
So if you dont like to go through all the career, and just want to race your mates around Monaco or Spa this game is bang on and would easily get a 10, but if your like me and love to do your careers, and mines a 7 career, then you may get annoyed during your career, and its because of the bugs, and thats why it get its marks knocked down to an 8.5
