An interesting and relaxing way to unwind

User Rating: 8 | Eufloria PS3
I seem to spend most of my time playing games like Dark Souls, Uncharted, or FPS so I'm actually pretty surprised that I even bought this or even bothered to download the demo. Given the type of games I tend to play when I have some down time I never realized how tense some of the game play was until I loaded this game to play while my fiancé was sleeping in the same room. The game was strangely engrossing. While the ultimate experience of Eufloria is not as engaging as every AAA title it was very odd to actually play a game that was, well, relaxing.
GAME: The object of Eufloria is to send your seedlings to other asteroids so that you can plant trees to create more seedlings. The game has slight obstacles for you to overcome. The combat occurs between other rival seedlings but is in no way a white knuckle experience at all. You can choose to zoom in and watch and hear the seeds battle it out or you can zoom out and engross yourself in the relaxing atmospheric music and beautiful composition that makes up Eufloria.
MUSIC: The music is a very ambient atmospheric melody that pairs well with the relaxing game play.
Difficulty: While this may not be as difficult as your everyday run of the mill video game I still hold some challenge or enough of a challenge to keep you engrossed.
Although Eufloria may not be an "everyone's" type of game or an AAA title by any means, Eufloria seems to break the mold of the everyday video game in an entertaining and interesting manner. If you're ever looking for a way to relax without the machine gun or sword swinging noises echoing in your living room then give a Eufloria a try. It just might surprise you.
