Let me start off by saying this game is one of the best games this gen. period. Eternal darkness: sanity’s requiem for the gamecube is definatly a must-have for any gamecube owner out there. Silicon knights did an amazing job with this game. Not only do the graphics look down-right detailed. But they also look extremely polished and very realistic. And on top of this, the developers took the time to plan out how each character’s time would look like. And the outcome was wonderful. Next is the sound which deserves a perfect 10 out of 10 from every site out there. The gripping noises and creepy music is something to behold. And the sound is especially noticeable in the sanity effects. Speaking of sanity, this game’s “sanity effects” are anything BUT a gimmick. They are certainly something fresh and different than monsters jumping out of doors and windows. And each effect will prove to be surprising one way or another. Then there’s the gameplay which is also an original mix of combat and “magick”. Spells and enchantments and a bunch of other stuff mashed in between. But what’s the BEST thing about eternal darkness by far? That would have to be the story. This in my opinion is the best story out of any book, movie, or game I have ever seen. The story is fantastic and memorable. Confusing at first, but immediately clear and surprising at the end. And overall a great package in the end. Got a gamecube? GET ETERNAL DARKNESS!!!
