205 hours in, and I'm still having fun.

I begrudgingly played this game with my roommate when he had bought it, against my advice, and he wanted to see what the multiplayer was like. After sitting on his bedroom floor for 5 hours straight playing it, he finally kicked me out, and I went out and bought my own copy.

Don't ask me why, but there's something about the way this game works that appeals to the obsessive compulsive types like myself. While generally every mobile suit has the same basic commands, each one executes the inputs differently, and has different amounts of attacks. So while most of the time you'll be able to use a really sweet gundam level suit and lay waste to fields of lesser suits, there are missions that require you to use one of the suits that you're normally destroying by the dozen, to take out the super powerful suits. This actually ends up being interesting, hard, but interesting. The reason being is that you can actually exercise a little strategy, you can out maneuver your opponent, or lure them into a position that gives you an advantage. You CAN just run in there swinging and hope for the best, but there are tactical ways to turn the battles in your favor that aren't really defined by the game makers, you figure it out on your own.

I'll admit that this game is not for everyone, but you'll know pretty quick if it's for you or not. I unlocked and beat everything, including the DLC, and even got the Platinum Trophy, and my final play time was just over 205 hours, and I'm still ready for more. So that should let you know just how addicting this game can get if you're the addictive type.

I'll also say that the story missions are pretty accurate to the actual tv shows. since playing this game I've gone and watched many of the anime series, and they line up pretty well. That's also a warning, because it actually kinda spoiled some of the plots for me, so beware of that.

My only real complaint about the game was the upgrading system. It's a random part acquisition/upgrade deal. I understand why they did it, it keeps you from getting too powerful too fast, and it does help keep things fresh. Though, when you use one suit a lot, the game takes notice and always tries to get you new parts for that suit. Still, when you're stuck on a mission and desperately need better gear for a specific suit, it can get a little bit annoying. It's not a game breaker, but a new system in the next game would be welcomed.

Also, the first DW:Gundam has no bearing on this game at all, and lacks many of the features available in this game, so don't feel like you should play it to know what's going on, they're not linked in any way.
