Destiny mode saves the franchise

Well we have all seen what the DW line of games feels like. And even the die hard fans have to admit that its the same old thing ove and over agin. You ga around slaying troops into the thousands. you push that square button into the millions and mybe occasionally you will pull off a great combo with a musou finish.

That about summons up the DW collection. Yet it is this new inovative idea that saves the franchise. DESTINY MODE.

Finaly you can have a real affect on the game, not just be one of the 40+ characters, but actully yourself. This is a long over due addition to the franchise and it could not have come in a bette place tan this.

The idea is simple, you play a series of missions for a general of your choice, progressing the game along a linear script, until your sides total victory. You are a lonely private and through your actions (contributions), become a Lt. General. Not to mention you can get new styles of clothes and wepons, you evolve your skill. One mission I was a renegade general who slaughtered every thing in his path, the other a skilled ambusher, waiting to destroy an enemy with tacktics not brute strength.

On top of that, through out the course of the game, you can be asked to join another faction or feint a betrayal and bring honor to your original general.

This idea of actually being yourself in the game adds infinite playabilty that the DW series has long been missing. So enjoy it, and lets hope the DW creators expand on this idea in the future.
