The only good thing about this game is the title is honest: Broken.

I played the first Dungeon Siege for about 20 minutes before deleting it out of sheer boredom. Because I had heard the name of the game so many times I reckoned #2 might be better.

This game is all about clicking on a monster and waiting for your character to do the same attack or spell over & over & over until the monster dies. Click on the next monster.... wash, rinse, repeat. I've never felt a game actually depress me like this does. It also copied all the latest cheese factors used in other new so-called RPG games where no one dies in your party - they just fall unconscious and wake up momentarily later somehow perfectly healthy. Saving is impossible and must be done at a base which means you have to repeat the same tedious trip out every game.

Compare this junk to a real RPG like Icewind Dale where you have to be careful not to get your people killed. Each battle in Icewind Dale has to be figured out tactically, how to position each character, what magic to use, maybe change weapons, go melee or ranged etc. In the Dungeon Siege the sheer boredom of one click on monster and wait for repetitive action to kill it and then repeat over & over is enough to kill all your braincells off in a few hours and definitely make you depressed. The endless boring loot that you gather by the thousands adds heavily to the boredom and repetition.

Games ought to be fun. If you want to be bored, go do some paperwork and avoid the Dungeon Siege series like the IRS.
