This game has gotten far to trashed in the professional review circles. I think this is exactly what I expected from Duke. The combat is good as is the puzzle solving and platforming sections. No, this is not a AAA title but nor is it a peice of garbage. It is more than a nod to the Duke fans and I hope that there will be more games to come. Pesonally I give it an extra boost for the nostalgia peice and just having Duke back. The humor is crude and better than ever. This interaction with the environment is funny and clever. I don't know what tight wad on Gamespot gave it a 3 but I wouldn't think anyone would rate it less than a 6 even if you never heard of Duke. What happened? Did something Duke said tee you off? Or do you not like slappin the milk jugs?
Bottom line is if you played Duke 3D and always wanted more than this is an excellent game for you. If you never played it then maybe you would find it average. But unless you are sexually uptight and/or hate macho men then maybe you should pass and leave it to those of us who can handle it.
