Truth is, Tanner... this game really pumps the gas.

OK, let me start off by saying that this review is based on how the game played when it came out in 2000. If it was released in today's market I'm sure I wouldn't like it nearly as much.

Good:
-The best motion and collision physics of it's time. Vehicle damage is handled very well.
-Some pretty good graphics, eventhough they aren't as good as games like Gran Turismo 2.
-4 huge cities with realistic layouts.
-Apartments in each city with answering machine messages that never fail to entertain.
-Good mission volume and variety, it takes about 40 hours to beat and you really have to get good at predicting and avoiding things.
-Additional modes such as survival are tons of fun. You can launch yourself off the slopes of SF with some propulsion from the cops that are ceaselessly rear-ending you and then create awesome movies out of all the chaos.
-Voice acting is pretty good, theres a good mix of gruff and goofy characters.
-A little bit of car variety with their own physics spread across various missions.

Bad:
-You can never leave your car during missions. Make no mistake, this is not GTA.
-There are no curved roads and there's a limit to the variety of obstacles you'll encounter.
-Missions that take 20 minutes to beat can easily end with a sudden and violent crash 19 minutes into them, resulting in a frustrating mission restart. There are no checkpoints.
-Some of the groovy music gets a little repetitive by the end of the game.
-No multiplayer.
