A Dragon Ball RPG for the ages!

I've been waiting for a good DBZ RPG for years ever since the Famicom and Super Famicom ... there after, DBZ has always been about fighting games and occassionally action and platformers ... even though Harukanaru game out for the NDS before this one, it still lacked a lot of what i want to see in a DBZ based RPG.

Until this one came out and blew my mind away.

I completed the Japanese version of the game, but the plot still follows with the anime so there's nothing surprising about it, whether you play the English or the Japanese version. It's the same old story of Goku and gang and their desperate race to save the world from the Sai-yans who are "paying them a visit", and the many lives lost to keep them at bay.

The game is very simple to begin with, the controls are very basic and the battle system isn't very complex. Which is great because the simplicity will provide ease of mind when you're playing and grinding the levels, and the special moves are quite well done. You will get to use all the moves you've seen in the comic and there's the sparkling powered up version of the moves that you can activate once your power bar is filled up. Fans will rejoice to see their favourite characters powered up and using special moves that really rock!

There's also hidden tag-team moves in the game, using certain characters and certain moves, there are special combos to unlock. I've seen them all and many of them are quite amazing combos to use, and every character can come together and execute them - as there are generic combos ... the really special ones are worth trying out and mixing them around!

The bosses are decently challenging, the stages are short and usually quite straight to the point, but that doesn't mean the game doesn't pose any challenge! There's quite a bit of stuff to be done, and by the end of the game, you'll be quite satisified by the time you've spent.

Oh yar, it will continue to a sequel. I'm definitely waiting for that one! :)
