User Rating: 10 | Dragon Ball: Advanced Adventure GBA
Finnaly? An adventure Dragon Ball game??? ARE WE DREAMING? NO!! FINNALY! I was wondering when the hell would they make an dragon ball game that wouldn't be just fighting and the under-rated RPG Legacy of Goku I and II (wich i enjoy though the rates are not the best... anyway i prefer that RPG made for the old snes... that one rocks). Anyway, we are not dreaming we finnaly have a good Dragon Ball game and it is not Dragon Ball Z wich kind of became an obcession i may add, since every game that went out for the consoles 'till now were from Dragon Ball Z, wich was for me the saga i didn't like a lot... Dragon Ball is by far (for me) the best saga! And we finnaly can live it on our GBAs and NDS and whatever you have that plays GBA games. Anyway... enough talking about the series let's concentrate in the game... or should i say in the games? :o Yes, this is kinda like 2 on 1 since you can go through the adventure mode or the fighting mode (yes, like in Mega Drive and PlayStation/XBOX/GC). I'll talk about the 2 modes seperatly.. ADVENTURE MODE It's an awesome and beautifull adventure full of great graphics and cool-looking moves! You play as Goku or Krillin (you can only play with Krillin when you finish it with Goku, and they both have different moves, abillities and a slight different story-line). It is a basic platform/beat'em'up game. Imagine 'Streets of Rage' meets Super Mario or something like that, and i can tell you it's one of the best games i played! REALLY addictive! It follows the Anime storyline wich the fans will recognize and, if you watched the series it will be good 'couse there are fights that you need to do what the character did in the anime (if you don't want to be spoiled do NOT read: like in the 5th floor on the Muscle tower where Goku had to break the wall to freeze the monster in order to kill it *END OF SPOILERS*) I haven't played with Krillin yet, since i bought the game today (yes, i just had a break to write this :PP addictive :o) The Deadly moves you can perform are really cool! And of course you can throw the well-known Kame-Hame-Ha wich Roshi will teach Goku and Krillin through the game. I think that covers the Adventure Mode. Oh, when you go through the adventure mode you will unlock more characters to battle in the One-on-One mode! ONE-ON-ONE MODE Great! Really fun! Great moves and a lot of characters to choose from (though you only start with Goku and Krillin, wich is great already :P) You can unlock characters for this mode through the adventure mode (i've unlocked Jackie Chun; Tao Pai Pai for now) and i don't know how many arenas there is since i only know the Martial Arts tatami for now... And i don't know how to unlock more :P maybe when i finish the game... anyway, it's a really fun mode, it's like having 2 dragon ball games in one, wich makes "Dragon Ball Advanced Adventure" one of my favorite games and defenitly the BEST dragon ball game ever! 10/10
