For fans of the SNES Tetris Attack or Dr.Mario, this is a dream come true

User Rating: 8.3 | Dr. Mario & Panel de Pon GBA
I liked Tetris Attack for the SNES, that was a long time ago though. But when I saw this pack, I had to buy it. I wasn't disappointed either, this packs the fun game of Tetris Attack, and the acceptable Dr.Mario into one game.

Gameplay

Puzzle League: I've always loved Tetris Attack, and I played it to date once in a while. I've mastered the game, but never can get enough of it. With the new modes... well, I can't say anything is completely new. The Garbage Mode is fun. They've also added harder challenges in some sections, which is awesome. The game has speeds for how fast the blocks move, perfect for making the game easier for beginners, or harder for veterans for the game.

Details on the gameplay is that you can switch blocks around to clear 3, and try to create chains where blocks above the 3 you clear fall, and you can clear more without any time inbetween it hitting the next set. Combos are when you clear 4, or more, I've gotten 30 or more in a combo before.

Dr.Mario: This is my first encounter with Dr.Mario, and I'm glad I've stayed away from this game. Its got an addictive gameplay though. The gameplay is just clearing germs. You drop pills of 3 colors, match a 4 of the same color and they clear. Its simple, and addictive, unfortunately the other sections of game really drag it down.

Graphics

For both games I can say they have bare bones graphics, no better than SNES. In fact, the Tetris Attack on SNES had way better graphics. Don't know about Dr.Mario, but I'll assume so.

Sound

Puzzle League: Disappointing sound. Music is very repetitive. Luckily, in the options you can change the music. It includes 3 sets of music from Tetris Attack. Poochie, which is laidback woodland theme from Tetris Attack. Lava Blargg (thats what I called him at least), which is a fire theme from Tetris Attack, and the Tutorial Theme, which is nearly identical to the regular theme of this game with small differences. Why they didn't include more music puzzles me. I've turned off the music on some occasions too, which can provide a better experience if you play the game for more than 40 hours.

Dr.Mario: Includes a bit more music than Puzzle League. All of it is forgettable, besides the one song that appears in Super Smash Brothers Melee. Its music is varied, but has a general theme to all the songs. The in game sounds are not as good as Puzzle Leagues, and there is one siren sound that drives me up a wall.

Value

Two-games in one pack. They are both good puzzle games, so I'll give it a decent value. Though people who loved the old games (like me) would easily give it a 10. If you never played the older games, are aren't an obsessed fan with one of the games (like me) you wouldn't be nearly as impressed. For that reason I'm giving it an 8.

Tilt

Two of Nintendo's best puzzle games portable. Bringing these games for a long car ride is a definite plus.

If you liked either of the old games, this is a pack you NEED to buy. I got a lot more out of the game than the said 8.3, but thats the score I feel is more fair towards what the average person would think of this game.
