Has potential but buggy right now

This is a very interesting game but it feels unpolished. I love how it introduces a very nice automation system which makes managing large empires less of a chore and allows me to focus on the game. However, it does have a lot of problems.

First, the the AI automation is very glitchy. For example, when I tell the AI to colonize a planet, my automated colony ships don't move after several months. If I manually select the ship and right click on the planet, it colonizes just fine. Another example is that the AI will often build things that piss off other civs and cause wars, but I just can't bring myself to scroll through hundreds of mining options to decide which ones to build, so I can't turn that automation off. I've also lost count of how many times an automated ship is stuck next to a planet/station trying to do something but not doing anything. I have to manually move these ships a few feet before they can successfully colonize/refuel/refit/etc.

Second, the max game speed of 4x is way too slow. With the helpful (and often necessary) automation, I can sit through 5 min without anything useful happening. Yes, I get a bunch of messages, but they're not actionable (see next part).

Third, the notifications are too spammy. The automation is a godsend when there's hundreds of possible mining sites, but I don't need to know when a construction ship is built because I'm not controlling them.

Lastly, the research tree is too confusing and hard to navigate (there needs to be a search). I'm looking through each research option but it's unclear what exactly it does. For example, it just tells me that option X will unlock frigates but it's unclear when I'd need frigates. Is it better for attacking or defense? Can I use it as a super powerful exploration ship?

I think this game has potential but it's probably better to wait until the automation kinks are worked out.
