I 'm carfeful getting enthousiastic about remakes. One, we tend to overromantize our fond memories and everything in it, and second, well, it just makes good sense.
So it was with this kind of aprehension I downloaded this psn-game, and started playing. And it's actually pretty well made. The controls are responsive, the characters and environments are upgraded; all still recognizable.
It was like discovering the game all over again.
Even that sense of nostalgia kept bubbling up, but this time in full hd color instead of seeing it at a 16 bit framerate.
Mickey is not my favourite character though, mainly because he is goody goody flawless. Like many, I favor donald duck and would not have minded at all, had they added mister tempered loudmouth into the mix.
That having said, sticking stricktly to it's source material remains commendable, because by doing so it reflects the quality of the original so immensly well.
And like the first one, it's imaginative, fun and challenging, sprinkled in fairly amounts across colorful paths, which even for an adult who has almost forgotten about a famous mouse, is hard to resist.
