One of the best RPG's I have played
Story: 8/10
Disgaea 3's story is funny and very enjoyable. Maybe not the deepest story, but at least it keeps us addicted to play it for hours, on and on, until we finally finish it. Also, there is A LOT of cut-scenes, ca. 50% of the game is made of that. Wow... Guess we can call it a "Metal Gear Solid Deluxe". Overall, it's about Mao and his need for revenge on his father, because he destroyed his video games. This may sound silly at first, but it is surprising how the story evolves to something better.
Sound 10/10
One of the best part of the games, especially the vocal songs. Rock, silly songs, pop, goth, dramatic, you name it. The songs fits the whole game. But I guess only Anime fans or Japanophiles will really enjoy it, though...
Also, the Japanese voice cast are fabulous. Clean, and does really have a lot of feelings involved. It really sounds like they mean what they say. One example, is when Mao is shouting "I am going to kill you!". Unlike the English voiced Ape Escape games...And the English VA cast... Well, I have not listened to it. I prefer to only use the JP track^^'' The only voice I can complain on, is that Geofrey voice... He sounded like he were high... But I got used to it at the end, though.
Graphics: 5/10
Meh, they could have done better. It's one thing that the characters are poorly pixelated, but more disturbing, the objects and level designs looks crude. It looks like it was intended to be made into a PS2 release, so there's not any really detailed stuff here... But the characters' 2D pictures looked really neat, and the opening was fortunately in full HD. God bless that!
Gameplay 10/10
I swear to God, this game can last until next New Years eve... Especially now that the Trophies are finally coming to the NA version, and the Rasberryl chapters were recently released... A nice touch is that you can level up to level 9999 (If you bother) and take damage up to 10000000 hp. Which makes me worried, because this will surerly be one of the Trophy goals... T-T
Also, very amusing and keeps giving more and more. BGM shop, color shop... they have it all. Plus that it features around 7 endings too, so watch out! Don't screw it all, and get the bad one!
Overall, a fantastic game. Only the Graphics could have been done better. But I guess that's what sequels are for! This is me, saying "Good Night folks"
