Rally Racing At Its Finest!

User Rating: 9 | DiRT 3 X360
This was the first DiRT game i played and i am totally amazed by it. With tons of events to play through, a difficulty slider that caters to drivers of all skill levels, tight, responsive controls, and a solid frame rate, DiRT 3 does not disappoint!

Graphics:
The graphics are outstanding. The car models are impresively detailed, the real-life track locations (i.e: Finland) are accurately depicted, and the solid frame rate helps keep the races running smoothly (as well as the physics). The menus are also slick-looking, as well as organized.

Sound/Music:
DiRT 3 sounds superb too. Each car has its own distinctive engine sound, the voicework for the menus and the guided instructer for guiding you through a track are done well, and even the crashes sound neat. The soundtrack is done well too.

Controls:
The cars handle well. This is very effective when it comes to tackling a series of sharp S-bends or even that sharp kink that comes from out of nowhere. Even the drifting is smooth and responsive.

Gameplay:
There are a ton of races and challenges to play through, which gives the player a good variety of races, crossovers, rally cross, and gymkhana (the new edition to the franchise where you rack up points for drifts, donuts, etc.) Career mode pits you with other drivers to compete in various races to unlock other vehicles, etc. The races are even more fun because DiRT's difficulty sliders make it to where it appeals to drivers of all skill levels, so it puts up a good fight without pulling cheap tricks along the way.

Final Verdict:
Overall, DiRT 3 is a fantastic, solid, addicting, fair, responsive rally racer with some incredible tricks up its sleeve. Rally racing fan or not, this game would appeal to everybody!
