Hackers Memory

User Rating: 7 | Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Hacker's Memory PS4
If you have played the prequel to Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Hackers Memory, then you will be witnessing a very familiar scene. Whether it's the music, the characters, or even the setting, there is very little to be seen that you will have not witnessed before. Sure, there are new locations, and with that, new soundtracks, but when it comes to the environments and mechanics you have seen before in the previous installment, it becomes clear that the developers wanted to put as little time and effort as possible into making a game that, regardless of change, would bring back long time fans. However, with what subtle changes they provided, Bandai Namco did very well to make the experience seem at least somewhat fresh, whether it's with the 3 vs 3 battle mode, the trainer battles or the online events to tide you over. What would normally be seen as disappointment in a sequel, Hacker's memory just managed to add enough new features to make the sequel fun and satisfying, without needing to change the core mechanics that made the first game enjoyable. If you enjoyed the first Cyber Sleuth, or just love turn-based, collect them all style games in general, you won't be too disappointed.
