An odd game regarding Digimon

I never really purchased this game, but instead recieved it as a christmas present from a relative who didn't really know what I was into and just decided that teenagers liked games and the title looked flashy. When I played the game itself I felt disappointed with it because the game itself seems pretty mundane and there really isn't too much that a player can really do with the game itself on an overall basis. Within the gameplay you choose a digimon and you pit yourself against another digimon in a small battlefield. Both players start at low digimon rookie levels and fight each others, collecting the orbs that come out of each other when they take a hit. In order to gain more orbs there are special power ups that characters can collect in order to bolster their strengths and upgrade to the next pecking order level within the Digimon universe. I was quite disappointed with this game, but since I never really paid my own money to get it I'm not all that disappointed.
