Diablo II: Lord of Destruction Review

User Rating: 8 | Diablo II: Lord of Destruction (Re-release) PC
Well, Diablo II: Lord of Destruction is a great game, and it is highly addictive. But, I guess that's what you would expect from Blizzard :). The game is great, and this is probably one of the first roleplaying games that started it all. There has been many games that copied it, but not all as good as this game. For example, Torchlight and Fate copied these games, but I guess Torchlight could have, since two to three of the developers from Diablo created Torchlight. Anyway, this game is highly addictive and a great buy, and is worth every penny. It's a great classic roleplaying game, and if you're the type of person that likes grinding gold and farming epic items then this is the game for you. I love roleplaying games, but not as much as some people, because the grinding just sometimes gets a little repetitive and a little boring. I did beat this game and it was really fun and I can't wait till they release Diablo III. Looking back at Diablo III's gameplay videos, the graphics look very good, almost like Sacred 2: Fallen Angel. Sometimes this game does get a little annoying with all those stats you have to pay attention to, which is still fun, but sometimes annoying. The storyline itself isn't like amazing, like what you would get from Red Dead Redemption or Alan Wake, but there are a lot of quests and side quests that lead you to the story. They're all fun, but you all probably know what they are? Explore this, find me this, kill this, all that repetitive stuff. Even if these quests are there, I still enjoy doing them, but if you're one of those people that hates grinding for gold and weapons, paying attention to stats, and hates doing repetitive quests, this game is surely not for you, though it is a classic, it can make time go by really quickly and waste a whole day at that. I can control myself, so it isn't a problem for me, but some people out there can get really addicted, including World of Warcraft, but other than that, this game is quite fun so, if you enjoy roleplaying games, this should be a quick buy for you, and also, Fate and Torchlight are great games, that are like Diablo, just better graphics, so if you ever beat Diablo and want more, you can get those, or even Sacred or Sacred 2: Fallen Angel. So in the end, in my opinion this is a game that I enjoyed and if everything I wrote in this review sounds like you, then you should totally go out and buy it, if you haven't.
