Now as for the review ...... well for pc gamers dont wait up for the game since there is hardly a game like this on pc. For those who have already played it on ps2 dont bother wasting your time on it .
THE STORY
You assume the role of Dante a half demon half human on the quest of preventing his evil twin Vergil (who is just as cool as dante and a bit more badass ) from opening the hell gates. The main character of the game Dante is one of the most awesome and coolest character you ever played as. The story of the game is also unique in the way that it represent the darkness, the twists and emotions. other characters are also memorable especially Vergil which some us would regret (spoiler alert) is not in the next game
GAMEPLAY
What makes this game completely different and special than other pc games is its game play. Its fast paced ,cool, and keep you on the edge of your seat 100% engaged in it. But before you start be sure to have a gamepad alas for which first you have to find a patch since the analog sticks control are pretty much messed up for most of the gamepads . Its controls on the keyboard is one of its setbacks but sometime later u would found out that u have mastered them since the game is just as notoriously difficult as it was on ps2 (oh believe it).
You would be initially provided with your one good old sword rebellion and two pistols (unlimited ammo :-) ).With them there are four different fighting styles all of which are fun to use. As the game progresses new more awesome weapons and styles can be acquired. But you can carry only 2 weapons and 2 firearms at a time. You can learn new skills,upgrade your weapons. Styles would be automatically leveled up according to the time you used them
The AI is really intelligent . The enemies start deflecting yor attacks if you used a single attack more than often. The boss fights are great and amazingly tough. An easy mode would be your achievement if you died more then three times.
Once you completed the normal mode you can select vergil as the playble character. His fighting style is completely different but no less amazing than Dantes. Vergil has just one fighting style the Darkslayer. Another disappointment is that there is hardly a cutscene and different level for him.
GRAPHICS
Well not as good as ps2 the graphics are just ok considering what happened to most of other straight to pc ports (RE4 anyone)
.The camera issues are still unresolved .
RE PLAYABILITY
Once you finish the normal mode playing the game again is obvious for not only you would be given new modes, new costume but a whole new playable character. Yes you can select vergil for giving another shot to the game. Even after this new costumes and artworks can be unlocked for vergil.
In the nutshell I would say that I agree with gamespot that it is a fish out of water but the fish is delicious .Although it has a list of issues but is just as much enjoyable and fascinating as it was on ps2 and is obviously worthy of giving a try .
